This is the best time to get your bowels moving, drink some warm water with lemon and do some breathwork to help your nervous system balance. Give yourself time in the morning so that your gut can detoxify properly. Your Liver will thank you! Meditation and fully waking yourself up are in alignment with your body’s natural rhythm at this time of day.

The metal element governs both the large intestine and lungs, helping us “cut through” the bullshit (excuse me) and see clearly what matters. Having healthy boundaries and a strong sense of priorities will encourage a healthy metal element and be supportive of both these organs. Metal is also the element of the Fall season, and it makes so much sense! In the Fall it is common to feel a passing sadness as summer ends, and it’s also important to tend to our respiratory health to avoid getting sick. Any practices that help you let go and assimilate will support your colon and bowel habits. My personal favorite is taking some time to myself with a cup of tea and my journal.

🍉 Watermelon is the perfect summer food for hot July days! Watermelon is considered to have cooling properties even when eaten at room temperature. 

Try this simple watermelon, feta, and mint salad:

🍉 3 cups seedless watermelon, cubed 
🧊 ½ cup feta cheese crumbles 
🍃 10 mint leaves, roughly torn 
🧂 Black pepper and sea salt to taste
🫒 Olive oil

In a large bowl, lightly toss watermelon with feta and mint.
Transfer to serving platter and drizzle lightly with olive oil.
Sprinkle with freshly cracked black pepper and coarse sea salt to taste.
